The objective of this course to impact knowledge of the basic principle about the micro organisms which are commercially used to produce primary and secondary metabolites, bio films, vaccines, single cell protein, vaccine, drugs, vitamins, good products and so on. 

Plant tissue culture is defined as culturing plant seeds, organs, explants, tissues, cells, or protoplasts on a chemically defined synthetic nutrient media under sterile and controlled conditions of light, temperature, and humidity.

The course will enable students to

  • Identify edible and poisonous mushrooms
  • Gain the knowledge of cultivation of different types of edible mushrooms and spawn production.
  • Learn a means of self employment and income generation.

•Genetic disorder are due to alterations or abnormalities in the genome of an organism.
•Genetic disorders occur when a mutation affects your genes or when you have the wrong amount of genetic material.
•Genes are the basic unit of heredity. They hold the genetic information in the form of DNA which can be translated into useful Proteins to carryout life processes. These genes undergo a mutation, which changes the protein does not work properly.
•Genes are made of DNA , which contain instructions for cell functioning and the characteristics that make you unique
•It can be caused by a mutation in a single gene (monogenic) or multiple genes (polygenic) or by a chromosomal abnormality.
•The mutation responsible can occur spontaneously before embryonic development or it can be inherited from two parents who are carriers of a faulty gene (autosomal recessive ) or from a parent with the disorder (autosomal dominant).
